A message from Irwin Nash, M.D., FCAP Chairman, Department of Pathology Welcome to the Department of Pathology where pathologists, pathologist assistants, medical technologists, medical technicians, phlebotomists and support personnel provide a full spectrum of laboratory services. Our dedicated staff of over 100 individuals performs approximately two million tests per year. Our departmental sections include surgical pathology, histology, cytology, autopsy, chemistry, hematology, serology, blood bank and microbiology. Studies have shown that 70% of medical decisions rely on laboratory data. We proudly offer our medical community and our patients laboratory data that is comprehensive, accurate and timely. Our lab never closes; we provide results around the clock each and every day to maximize the healthcare provided at the Hospital of Saint Raphael.
