Patient education for you and your family
Because knowing what to expect…
…can bring peace of mind
We at the Hospital of Saint Raphael believe the more active a role you take in your care, the healthier you will be. That’s why we’re partnering with you and your doctor to give you as much information as possible about your health and the procedures your doctor recommends for you.
What is Emmi?
Because preparing for a surgical, diagnostic or medical procedure can be overwhelming, Saint Raphael’s offers a unique, online educational resource called the Emmi® program. An Emmi program translates complex medical procedures into easy-to-understand information, and helps educate you on what to expect before, during and after your surgery or other medical procedure. Knowing what to expect can help you feel more comfortable and may even lead to a faster recovery.
Emmi programs are entirely Web-based, so you can view them at your own pace, in the comfort of your own home – or from any computer with an Internet connection. You can also share them with friends or loved ones anywhere in the world.
If you are scheduled for an upcoming procedure or have a chronic condition, your doctor will give you an access code to view the Emmi program that’s right for you. Use the access code to activate the program online at: www.my-emmi.com.
The following programs do not require an access code. Simply click on the program to register yourself:
Anesthesia (adult)
Anesthesia (child)
Pain Relief for Childbirth
For more information about the Emmi program, call (203) 789-3863.
If you are a patient or visitor who would like to learn more about a medical treatment using the Emmi program while you are at our main hospital, there is an Education Room specifically for Emmi research located in the cafeteria to the right after entering through the cafeteria doors. There is a sign on the door identifying the area for Emmi use.
