MotherCare van offers services at West Haven, Hamden and New Haven sites

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Hospital of Saint Raphael’s Project Mothercare van offers prenatal, pediatric and primary care to children and adults in Greater New Haven. Nutrition and substance abuse counseling are part of its services, as well as HIV testing and counseling and acupuncture for detoxification.

The van visits different neighborhoods each day, and follow-up referrals are made to primary care clinics and other services at Saint Raphael’s. Fees vary by service, and its weekly schedule is as follows:

•Monday: WHEAT program at 320A Campbell Ave. in West Haven from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a pediatric practitioner on site.

•Tuesday: Dixwell Community House at 197 Dixwell Ave. in New Haven from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a pediatric practitioner on site.

•Wednesday: West Hills School Project on South Genesee Street in New Haven from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

•Thursday: Salvation Army at 1359 Dixwell Ave. in Hamden from 9 a.m. to noon and Lincoln Bassett School at 130 Bassett Street in New Haven from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

•Friday: Life Haven at 447 Ferry St. in New Haven from 9 a.m. to noon.
