Saint Raphael’s Father Michael J. McGivney Cancer Center – Hamden Campus brings the advanced technology and expertise of Saint Raphael’s renowned cancer program closer to home for many in the region.

Located at 2080 Whitney Ave., this new state-of-the-art cancer center offers a complete array of services, from radiation therapy to medical oncology, easy access to physicians, and educational and supportive services for patients and their families-including integrative and complementary therapies.

Key services include radiation therapy (external beam radiation therapy, IMRT – intensity modulated radiation therapy, and IGRT – image guided radiotherapy), physician consults and follow-up visits, lab services, social services and nutrition services.

Saint Raphael’s innovative Looking Forward program is also offered at the new location, providing complementary medicine that includes educational programs and counseling.  In addition, the site has its own Looking Forward Specialty Shop featuring hats, headwraps, jewelry, wigs, aromatherapy products, healing music CDs and more.



The American Cancer Society’s Resource Center offers informational pamphlets, educational brochures and a computer terminal on which patients and their caregivers can research various cancer treatments, side effects and programs/events and services offered through the ACS at .

The computer can also be used to access Emmi®, an online educational program that translates complex medical procedures into easy-to-understand language so that patients have a better idea of what to expect before, during and after surgery or other medical procedures such as radiation therapy.
