Since 1990, Saint Raphael’s Project MotherCare has provided outreach primary care to underserved women and children in the Greater New Haven area. Project MotherCare provides primary medical care to women and children who do not have medical insurance or who have HUSKY, SAGA, or other public assistance, and those who have difficulty accessing care. The following services are provided at clinics on a first come/first served basis (see locations below):
Prenatal Care – GYN Care – Adult Primary Care (For Women Only) – Pediatric Primary Care – Immunizations* – WIC* – Substance Abuse Counseling – HIV Counseling and Testing

The program began as an outreach effort to decrease the infant mortality rate in New Haven. It has treated nearly 52,000 patients since it began – approximately 172,000 services rendered. Targeted to women who have limited health insurance, the Saint Raphael’s-sponsored Project Mothercare program offers examination and basic care from prenatal through to infant and child medical care.
