Areas of Practice
Nurses at Saint Raphael’s can practice in many specialty areas. Both RNs and LPNs can find opportunities within:
Medical Units
These include general medical, general medical – geriatrics, general medical – renal, and oncology
Surgical Units
These include general surgery, vascular, thoracic, ENT, bariatric, urology, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, and orthopedics.
Telemetry Units
These include general medical, cardiology and post-operative
Intensive Care Units
These include coronary, medical, surgical and cardiothoracic.
Psychiatric Units
Nurses can work in either adult or children’s inpatient units.
Women’s and Children’s Services
This area includes our Labor and Delivery Unit, Postpartum Unit, Level I and II Nurseries, Neonatal ICU, and the Pediatrics Unit.

Emergency Department/Trauma Center
Ambulatory Surgery Center
Radiology Nursing
IV Therapy
Excellent orientations and specialty courses prepare you for specific nursing areas. Critical care, chemotherapy and oncology courses are regularly scheduled.
