Women’s Center for Breast Health Nationally Accredited by the NAPBC
HOTLINE: 203-789-3244
The Cancer Center offers a strong multidisciplinary program for evaluating and treating breast cancer. Under one roof, a team of radiologists, surgeons, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists provide advanced and compassionate care, following specific guidelines established in 1992 by the National Cancer Institute for the treatment of early-stage breast cancer.
Treatment options for breast cancer include surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Monthly tumor boards are held to review patients’ conditions and treatment plans, ensuring quality care.
These traditional treatment options are supplemented by a wide range of integrative medicine therapies , such as yoga, meditation, guided imagery, clinical holistic nutrition and energy healing. The McGivney Center also offers breast cancer patients a support group , and our Looking Forward Specialty Shop provides women with hats, scarves, turbans, makeovers, a breast prosthesis-fitting service, gift bags, educational books and audiotapes, CDs and much more.
From the time of diagnosis, throughout treatment and during follow-up care, we treat patients with respect, help them feel as comfortable as possible and give them access to the resources they need.
