Pharmacy Training

APPLICATION
Pharmacy practice residency program applicants must be graduates of a doctor of pharmacy program from an accredited college, as well as eligible for Connecticut pharmacist licensure. Licensure exams (i.e., NABPLEX, state/federal law) must be taken before start date.
Applicants must submit the following to the residency program director by Jan. 15:

  • Letter of intent
  • Official college transcript
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Three letters of reference

Core Rotations

  • Orientation to Pharmacy Services
  • Cardiology
  • Infectious Diseases
  • Pharmacy Management/Automation
  • Medical Intensive Care Unit
  • Oncology

Longitudinal Experience

  • Anticoagulation Clinic
  • Drug Information

Elective Rotations
(subject to preceptor availability and resident interest)

  • Ambulatory Care
  • Geriatrics
  • Internal Medicine
  • Patient Safety
  • Quality Improvement
  • Surgical Intensive Care Unit

Other Core Requirements

  • Eastern Residency Conference participation
  • Completion of a major and minor project (e.g., medication use evaluation, service project)
  • One formal seminar
  • Staffing
