Some of the most important members of our team are the volunteers
who give their time to help patients, families and staff at the
McGivney Center. These wonderful individuals greet patients and
family members as they arrive at the Center and are companions
to patients throughout their visits. In addition to providing
support and helping with clerical duties, volunteers work in the
Looking Forward Specialty Shop,
which provides hats, scarves and other accessories and services for patient
undergoing physical changes due to their cancer treatment.
Volunteers are placed through the Volunteer Services
department and trained by the
McGivney Center staff. Our volunteers tell us that their volunteer
service is extremely rewarding. They not only work in a very positive
environment - they help to create it for patients and their families.
