There is one clinical trial for breast cancer treatment. The purpose
of this study (RTOG 98-04) is to determine whether or not the addition
of radiation therapy will decrease or delay the recurrence of breast
cancer and prevent the need for mastectomy over the course of a patient's
lifetime.
Participants in this study will receive Tamoxifen (an anti-estrogen
medication) at the discretion of the Hospital's lead clinical trial
physician. This study is for women with early stage breast cancer, known
as DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ). This is a
phase III trial.
