Prostate cancer treatment program

Prostate cancer is one of the most common diseases facing American men today, with a recent study estimating the risk of prostate cancer at 1 in 6. Screenings for prostate cancer are now conducted as a regular part of annual physicals, so men are being diagnosed earlier – at younger ages and earlier stages of the disease. There are a number of treatment options, and it can be challenging to decide which is best for you.

Saint Raphael’s offers many advanced treatments. As a leader in the battle against prostate cancer, the hospital has pioneered radioactive seed implantation, external beam radiation therapy, and recently became one of the few centers in the state to offer intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT).

The information here is intended to help you understand your options. The McGivney Center staff and physicians are available to answer any your questions you and guide you through this process.

The McGivney Center also offers a prostate cancer support group, which can provide you with educational and emotional support.
