Deborah Del Vecchio-Scully, L.P.C., integrative medicine manager at
Saint Raphael’s Father Michael J. McGivney Center for Cancer Care, is a
nationally certified mental health counselor and certified yoga therapist
in the integrative yoga therapy tradition.
Del Vecchio-Scully received her training from Southern Connecticut State
University and completed her post-Master’s training in Mind Body Medicine
at the Mind Body Medical Institute affiliated with Harvard University. She
is accredited by the National Board of Certified Counselors as a nationally
certified counselor. She is a member of the American Counseling Association,
the Connecticut Counseling Association, the Connecticut Mental Health
Counseling Association and the Association of Oncology Social Workers and is
a lecturer on integrative medicine, non-pharmacological pain management,
stress management, and Psycho-Oncology to local universities, community
organizations and cancer support groups.
Del Vecchio-Scully consults with the interdisciplinary teams within the
McGivney cancer center, the inpatient oncology unit and the OB/GYN outpatient unit,
coordinating patient care and services. She also acts as a mental health counselor,
offering therapy to individuals with cancer, their families and groups. She
co-facilitates the Life Enhancement Group, a unique wellness–oriented support
group for people living with cancer.
Del Vecchio-Scully serves on the Hospital of Saint Raphael’s Pain Team, End of
Life Team and on the Mental Health Emergency Response to Critical Incident team.
