HOIT Unit nurses
The HOIT
Unit has six dedicated registered nurses specially trained
in the care of patients with cancer, many of whom have been
recognized professionally for their outstanding work. In addition
to direct patient care, the HOIT Unit nurses provide patient
and family education, verify physician orders, administer
chemotherapy drugs, involve other disciplines (such as dietary
services) in the patient’s care as necessary, collaborate
with outpatient and inpatient offices, act as resources for
other areas of the hospital and work as primary care nurses
in the HOIT Unit’s clinic for uninsured/underinsured patients.
The HOIT Unit and its patients also benefit from the wonderful work of our volunteers.
