Chemotherapy
The Hematology/Oncology Infusion Therapy (HOIT) Unit offers hematology/oncology
infusion therapy treatments, the most common being chemotherapy. The HOIT Unit
has more than 50 different anticancer drugs given in multiple ways. The drugs
and combinations used depend on your general health, the kind of cancer you have,
where in the body the cancer is located and its effect on your body.
Once a patient's course of treatment has been decided, a staff member accesses an
online pharmaceutical library and creates an educational packet for each patient
about the types of medications and therapies he or she will receive.
