and humanistic qualities is also emphasized.
Fellows take part in monthly:
- Clinical rotations through Saint Raphael's Coronary Care Unit,
Consult Service and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit.
- Invasive rotations in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
and electrophysiology division.
- Non-invasive rotations in echocardiography, stress testing,
nuclear cardiology, ECG and AECG interpretation.

- Research projects.
Fellows also attend seven weekly and
five monthly conferences with cardiovascular physicians and residents.
Additionally, attending physicians have direct teaching responsibilities
in small group conferences during each of the monthly rotations.
These small group sessions allow for free discussion and communication
between fellows, residents and attending staff.
Fellows are responsible for presenting cases at the weekly cardiology
noon conference, cardiac catheterization laboratory conference and
CCU management conference, as well as the monthly peripheral vascular
conference and morbidity and mortality conference. Fellows are also
encouraged to participate in professional organizations and attend
national conferences.
