Kathleen Boni
Kathleen Boni was a general studies student working as an alarm system monitor when she discovered the radiation therapy program at Gateway Community Technical College. A single mom at the time, she thought radiation therapy would be a good way to support her family and work with people in an active environment.
Kathleen practiced as a radiation therapist at Norwalk Hospital and Saint Vincent's Hospital. Kathleen later decided to join the staff at Saint Raphael's. "I had a very positive experience here during my clinicals and through a family experience with cancer."
Kathleen lost her mother to cancer several years ago. "It's hard to see other family members go through what I go through, but fighting this disease is a great way to honor and celebrate my mom's memory."
She'll also honor her mother's memory by participating in the Hamden Relay for Life in June to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Kathleen will lead "The Radiators," a team of Saint Raphael's radiation therapists and others, including her father and one of her sons.
