Here is some very basic information for people who have been diagnosed with cancer.

 

If you have breast cancer…
Like most sophisticated cancer centers, Saint Raphael provides breast cancer patients with radiation therapy, chemotherapy, surgery or hormone therapy. Often, a combination of treatments is used. What makes Saint Raphael’s different from other hospitals, however, is the high level of compassion that comes with our medical care. Along with state-of-the-art cancer treatments, Saint Raphael staff and volunteers offer an array of support groups, social services and special services to help patients and their families. Be sure to talk with your doctor before starting any kind of alternative or complimentary treatment programs.

 

If you have prostate cancer…
At Saint Raphael's, prostate cancer patients are usually treated with brachytherapy (radioactive seed implants), three-dimensional radiation therapy, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, surgery or hormone therapy. Often, a combination of treatments is used. What makes Saint Raphael’s different from other hospitals, however, is the high level of compassion that comes with our medical care. Along with state-of-the-art cancer treatments, Saint Raphael staff and volunteers offer an array of support groups, social services and special services to help patients and their families. If you have lung cancer…
