Occupational therapy helps you resume activities of your daily life, both at work and at home. It can also help you regain, as much as possible, the functions of your arms and hands.
For example, our occupational therapists will work with you to regain function following such injuries and illnesses as fractures, arthritis or tendonitis, joint replacements, tendon and nerve damage, burns, amputations and cumulative trauma disorders like carpal tunnel syndrome.
We can provide you with a variety of services for these conditions, including customized splints; patient education; home exercise programs; and special adaptive equipment to help you perform tasks like dressing, washing or picking up objects.
Strengthening programs, coordination training, sensory re-education, perceptual training and training in daily living activities may be part of your program.
